A group of determined individuals, aspiring to secure positions in the Odisha Sub-ordinate Staff Selection Commission (OSSC), have raised their voices in a plea to the Odisha government. They urge for an extension of the online application deadline, citing persistent technical glitches that threaten to derail their dreams.
These aspirants, aiming for Group B and C posts under the OSSC's Combined Graduate Level Recruitment Examination (CGLRE-2025), have taken their concerns directly to the Chief Minister, Mohan Majhi, and the Chief Secretary, Anu Garg. In a heartfelt representation submitted on Tuesday, they highlighted the repeated challenges they faced during the registration process and form submission due to technical issues.
But here's where it gets controversial... Despite the challenges, these aspirants are not backing down. They allege that the online portal has been plagued with issues, causing delays, login failures, and errors during document uploads. Some even claim that their applications were not successfully submitted, despite deductions of Rs 500 from their bank accounts, leaving them financially and mentally distressed.
The aspirants are calling for immediate action, urging the state government and OSSC authorities to address these technical glitches and grant a reasonable extension. They fear that genuine applicants might be unjustly excluded from the recruitment process due to these system-related problems.
And this is the part most people miss... The application schedule, as per the official notification, is quite stringent. Online registration began on December 19, 2025, and is set to close on January 18, 2026, with the last date for form submission on January 21. The window for editing online applications remains open until January 24, but only through the OSSC website.
The recruitment drive aims to fill 1,576 vacancies, with 504 posts reserved for women. To be eligible, candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree from a recognized university and demonstrate basic computer proficiency. The age limit is set at 21 to 42 years as of January 1, 2025, with relaxations for reserved categories, women, persons with disabilities, and ex-servicemen.
The selection process includes a main written examination covering language and general studies, with a mathematics test for auditor posts and a computer skill test for select services.
