Former WSFM Content Director Mike Byrne is returning to the radio industry as Super Radio Network's new Network Content Director. After a brief career shift into bus driving following his redundancy from ARN Sydney, Byrne is back in his hometown of Newcastle, overseeing local content and contributing to the network's strategy. This appointment strengthens the group's focus on local content, with Byrne's reputation and experience in Sydney, Brisbane, and Newcastle bringing a proven track record. Super Radio Network, the largest privately owned commercial radio group in Australia, has also appointed Peter Schmidt as Group Technology Manager, expanding its leadership team across digital and operational systems. These appointments come as the company continues to build out its senior leadership, with CEO Rhys Holleran and Chair Joan Warner appointed in 2025. Byrne's return to radio and his hometown, along with Schmidt's technology expertise, will help the network strengthen programming and operations across its regional footprint.
